AI in Pharma CRM

AI in Pharma CRM

Artificial Intelligence in Pharma CRM – jointly developed, practically implemented

Digitalization in pharmaceutical sales has long become reality – and with it, one topic is increasingly coming into focus: Artificial Intelligence (AI). But what can AI actually achieve in Pharma CRM? How can technological possibilities be meaningfully integrated into daily routines – in a way that balances security, data protection, and practical value?

Pharmakon is pursuing this path together with its clients – relying on an approach that prioritizes not only technological aspects but also ethical, practical, and data protection requirements.

From idea to application – AI with substance

Under the leadership of Tengo Schönecker, a scientifically based study on AI in Pharma CRM was conducted in collaboration with IU International University – with a focus on the use of Large Language Models (LLMs) in sales and marketing contexts.

As part of this research:
• expert interviews were conducted,
• prototypes were developed and tested,
• and refined based on feedback from real users in the pharmaceutical field.

The objective was clear: no technological gimmicks, but AI that offers concrete support – while maintaining data security, anonymization, and practical applicability.

The result: an AI module that empowers the field force

The first AI-supported module from Pharmakon has now been successfully integrated into a client project. It is available both in the mobile CRM PharmaPilot and in the online version of the Pharmakon CRM platform.

The application supports pharmaceutical sales representatives in:
• targeted preparation for customer appointments,
• receiving tailored recommendations for next steps,
• automatic identification of relevant customer segments.

Data sovereignty always remains with the client. The AI components can be operated either through local hosting or via securely integrated cloud solutions – depending on the company’s infrastructure and preferences.

Innovation with a sense of proportion – made for medium-sized businesses

Medium-sized pharmaceutical companies in particular often find themselves between pressure to innovate and limited resources. Our response: CRM solutions with integrated AI that don’t aim for flashy effects but deliver real added value – usable, scalable, and secure.

We believe that modern CRM systems don’t have to follow every trend – but should above all do one thing: support people in their work. That’s why our AI development is not a finished product, but an ongoing dialogue with users: What works? What doesn’t? What is needed?

We offer insights into our current AI development – for example, through a personal live demo or an expert conversation. We look forward to hearing from you!

Customer Advisory Board 2025

Customer Advisory Board 2025

CAB 2025 – Three Days of Exchange at Eye Level

Once a year, Pharmakon invites customers to the Customer Advisory Board (CAB) – and turns it into more than a classic business meeting. Instead of PowerPoint marathons and one-way presentations, we focus on personal dialogue, honest feedback, and jointly developed perspectives.

In 2025, the CAB was once again a real highlight: Over the course of three days, there was discussion, presentations, hands-on trials – and, of course, forward thinking.

The event kicked off on Wednesday evening with a relaxed arrival in Glückstadt. During a joint city walk and a cozy dinner in a maritime atmosphere, participants had the chance to start conversations and make connections. Thursday was all about further development: In compact presentations and open discussion rounds, more than 50 new features, modules, and ideas were presented – including new user-focused dashboards, automated processes for prescription management, visit suggestions, or campaign planning, as well as initial AI-powered features to support day-to-day sales activities. All content was jointly discussed, prioritized, and enhanced – a direct contribution to the further development of our roadmap. To wrap up the day, a joint introductory golf session provided movement, exchange, and fresh conversation topics beyond the meeting room. Friday then offered space for deeper discussions: In a practice-oriented workshop, topics such as voice control, AI-powered analytics, target group engagement, and CRM-supported campaign management were explored – carried by an open, constructive spirit.

Thank you for three days full of insights, ideas, and trust

The CAB is a fixed part of our product development – and for good reason: Many modules and functions that are now part of our CRM originated from exactly this format.

We would like to sincerely thank all participants for their openness, feedback, and trust. And we are already looking forward to the next time!

Pharma CRM as the connecting element between Marketing and Sales

Pharma CRM as the connecting element between Marketing and Sales

In the current issue of Pharma Relations (07/2025), the focus is on the interplay between marketing and sales in the pharmaceutical industry. Featured in this issue: Holger Schönecker, Managing Director of Pharmakon, who shares an expert statement on how CRM systems can help break down silos and enable practical collaboration.

A central theme of his contribution is the role of CRM as a bridge between departments – not as a data graveyard, but as an active tool that supports both sides in their day-to-day work:

“Only when information about HCPs, interactions, and responses is systematically captured and accessible can marketing act more precisely and field sales respond more individually to local needs.”

According to Schönecker, a shared data foundation, clear processes, and user-friendly interfaces are essential to turn CRM systems into a connecting element – rather than just an administrative tool. Role-based views, integrated content management, and automated sales triggers help to shape effective communication between field sales and marketing.
